About Me
Once upon a time there was a young girl who dreamed of being a fairy princess. Her mother, upon hearing of this dream, set about to make this dream come true. The young girl watched in awe as with a needle and thread her dreams were stitched into a reality. During this time, the soon to be fairy princess came to a realisation. With a needle and thread she could be anything she imagined. As the girl grew, so did her dream. She now dreams of using her imagination and creativity to be a part of making dreams a reality for all, and what better way to do this than to design and produce costumes for stage and screen.
That girl is me, Tiffany Porto, from Port Macquarie, New South Wales, Australia.
I am very passionate about this field, and to help me reach my dreams I have completed a Master’s degree in Creative Practices (Costume) and a Bachelor’s degree in Design (Fashion) where I have learnt audience focused researching and visual communication along with garment design and production skills. During these studies I have completed work placements with Veronika Maine’s Design Team (2013) and with costume designer Jennifer Irwin for Bangarra’s production of Patyegarang (2014). I have just recently completed the university based portion of my education and am now looking forward to further learning through on-the-job experiences. I am focused, hardworking and driven and completely committed to extending my costume designs and production skills.
